In an ideal world, Pubies would exist. They would be the ultimate backup plan for people with social anxiety, people like myself.
Pubies is based upon some of the encounters I had when I first moved to New York. I remember them being so overwhelming and intimidating, I had no problem imagining an exit strategie when having to interact with personalities such as the lady with the red sweater.
The video and sound are edited in such a way that when the box is laid out on the table, the audience almost feels relieved rather than surprised by its content. I mean, what better way to shut up a self-indulging character than to serve them pubic hair?
Pubies I consider as one of my most important videos. Not only did it help me define my style, it also made me pursue filmmaking.
